Anima (1993) |
string orchestra - 8'
‘Anima’ is the feminine part of the human spirit and found in male as well as female. Strong, warm and life-giving, yet containing darker forces, it is the seat of human creativity. This simple yet intense piece was written especially for the participants of the first Contemporary Music-making for Amateurs (COMA) course which took place in summer 1993. One of COMA’s intentions is to produce a repertoire of high-quality contemporary pieces that are technically simple enough for amateurs to play, whilst being musically strong enough for everyone to enjoy - professionals, amateurs, audiences alike. Anima was one of the first three such commissions.
