Allegro — Moderato — Allegro
Commissioned by the Royal Canadian College of Organists — Winnipeg Centre for the Winnipeg Organ Festival, July 2004
The opening Allegro is in sonata form developing a dance-like first theme contrasting with a chorale section. The middle movement, Moderato, is a set of variations on a maronite song. The finale, Allegro, is in rondo form. Its thematic material is based on several marian songs, with a cyclical recapitulation of the second movement's theme.
