Rhapsody (1992)

For organ duet - c.10'

Commissioned by and dedicated to Raymond and Elizabeth Chenault, Rhapsody, for organ duet, uses four different popular tunes in succession: an Angelus from Brittany, a French carol O Dieu de Clémance , a Danse de Champagne by Claude Gervaise and an American folk hymn Go tell it on the Mountain. The fifth and final movement, Quodlibet, recapitulates all of the thematic material contained in the piece in contrapuntal superimpositions.

World premiere: by Raymond and Elizabeth Chenault at the American Guild of Organists’ National Convention, Atlanta, USA, 1992.
