For violin and viola - c. 2'
Commissioned by The Ixion Ensemble, UK. Facing the Fire was one of 10 commissions for the Ixion Ensemble’s cadenza project launched at the BMIC’s Warehouse Cutting Edge Series in the autumn of 2004. Each composer was asked to contribute a short, 2 minute cadenza for various instruments in the ensemble. My choice was a duo for violin and viola.
