For oboe, violin, viola, cello - 9'
The title (which is Italian for eclipse) alludes to the journey through distorted into charecteristic sound, providing an essay on the multiphoniccapabilities of the oboe, set against a kaleidoscopic texture of variable colours in the strings. The intervals of the oboe's multiphonics are set in direct relationship to the strings' material, all the musical substance being derived from the tones of the oboe chords. The piece resolves with all the instruments deploying their most traditionally charecteristic tone. © Edwin Roxburgh
