Ceremony (1985) |
This is a short piece for 11 brass and 3 percussion. The players are antiphonally separated in a symmetrical arrangement of 2 brass quintets, (each consisting of 2 horns, 2 trumpets and trombone) with the tuba in the centre and the three prcussionists (all playing metallic instruments) in a half-circle behind the brass. I think the title of the piece is self-explanatory. This piece was comissioned to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the City University Music Department by that department on 3rd December 1985.
